A Noble Spirit Embiggens The Smallest Man Edition
Todays links of interest:
- Fred Thompson: No opinion on Schiavo case
Making him the only person in America without an opinion on the issue. To be fair, he said that it was so far back in history he couldn’t really recall the details. We’ll give him a pass on this one, because March 2005 really is ancient history at this point. - Group Releases Free iPhone Unlock Hack
Yeah. Great. Lemme know when they can unlock me from the AT&T contract. - Wii is world’s biggest-selling console
Not coincidentally, it’s also the biggest seller among your ‘Lopers. - Microsoft downplays stealth Windows Update file updates
This shit right here? Why people HATE Microsoft. How is it possible that they don’t get that? What’s more possible is that they don’t give a rats ass. - Google sponsors race to the moon
Coming in 2010: Google Moon, the street-level view! - 6 Bob Dylans emerge in "I’m Not There"
Totally looking forward to this. And not just the movie, but The Hold Steady’s version of "Can You Please Crawl Out Your Window," and Cate Blanchett’s Oscar victory. - Johnny Cash to receive pardon 42 years after his arrest
Not that Johnny actually cares now, of course, but this pardon is for stealing flowers from somebody’s garden in Mississippi. He’s still on the hook, however, for that time he shot a man in Reno just to watch him die. - In ‘feud,’ West gets best of 50, for now
Of course, the cynical might say that all this proves is that more of Fiddy’s fans have access to illegal downloads than do Kanye’s fans. But that would be cynical. Also: we’re actually rooting for Kenny Chesney, though we’re not actually sure which one he is. Unless he’s the guy with the hat. - TV Producers Ditch the Tube for MySpace
By "ditch," they of course mean "was canceled by ABC after the pilot." Nevertheless, this is still a good move, and we’re always at least curious about projects involving the execs behind "My So-Called Life." Though not enough to ever want to watch "thirtysomething" ever again. But this, we might try.
