Putting the “Vice” Back Into Vice-President Edition

Todays links of interest:

  • Clinton says she’s open to being Obama’s VP
While we are certain that Mrs. Clinton would be a fine addition to the ticket, a hastily convened Twitter-based meeting of the Medialoper Editorial Board has come up with an alternative that we would like Mr. Obama to consider: our own Tim Gaskill. He’s tanned (well kinda), he’s rested (in fact, he can fall asleep at a moment’s notice), and most importantly, he’s ready. Why pick a party hack or a familiar name, when you can go with the first all Gen-X ticket? He can also help you make inroads on the all-important pop culture vote: it’s guaranteed that he’ll kick the GOP VP nom’s ass in any pop-culture based debate, which is very important in today’s Web 2.0 world. Obama-Gaskill ‘08!!
  • The latest phase in John Cusack’s career.
Cusack, of course, gets a lifetime pass from us because he’s the actor of our generation who seems the most like our little tribe, and its good to know that he’s still staying away from buying, selling and processing.
  • Another win for baseball fans — over baseball
Considering the contempt that MLB continues to show to the people who love their sport — only the major record companies hate their hard-core fans more — this is great news.
  • Guys, you can survive ‘Sex and the City’
Well, we can also survive the type of brain surgery that Ted Kennedy had, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that we want to be in that position.
  • Early U2 Reissues Packed With Rarities
Well, kinda. The extras from "Boy" look killer, with a few unreleased songs, as well as the first CD appearance of their pre-Boy singles. The "October" extras lean more towards live versions, but does include the first CD appearance of the great lost "A Celebration." However, the "War" extras are disappointing, to say the least, unless you think you need every version of "Two Hearts Beat As One" and "New Years Day" ever released.
