Cable is a pretty innocuous term that has no real technological overtones. It’s what you call just about any official communication that goes to or comes from an Embassy.
@mpc – true, but given the context of the article about the problems they were having with their email system, it almost makes it sound like they sent out a special telegram via Western Union (through the tubes, so to speak).
