  • How Jon Stewart Went Bad

Which just goes to show how little he understands about humor: the best humor — ESPECIALLY satire — comes directly from a place of anger. At another point Carlson asserts: No one this earnest can remain an effective satirist. Are you fucking kidding me? Earnestness is the KEY to satire: the jokes live and die on whether or not the audience believes the satirist is telling the jokes in order to keep himself from burning down whatever is pissing him off.
